Privacy policy
Last updated October 14, 2026. Boopreel is operated by The Open Apps, Inc. ("we").
Boopreel makes short video clips of pets from photos you share in ChatGPT. We collect only what that needs, we don't sell personal data, we show no ads, and we don't use your photos or clips to train AI models.
What we collect
| Data | Why | How long we keep it |
|---|---|---|
| The pet photo you attach in ChatGPT (we remove its location and camera metadata, and may crop it to the animal) | To make your clip and to make another effect from the same photo | 30 days, or until you delete it. Photos we refuse (for example because a person is in them) are never stored. |
| The clip we make, its page and a still frame | So you can watch, save and share it | 30 days, or until you delete it |
| ChatGPT's description of the animal (for example "corgi puppy") and a pet name if you give one | To describe the motion to the video model and to title the clip's page | With the clip |
| A one-way code made from ChatGPT's anonymous user id (we never see your name, email or ChatGPT account) | To show you your own clips and apply the limit of 3 clips a day | With your clips; the daily count for 3 days |
| Your time zone as ChatGPT reports it | To decide when your day starts for the daily limit | Not stored; only the day it gives is kept with the daily count |
| Technical logs: the time, which tool or page was used, counts and error codes, and with each request your approximate country, language and app or browser type as ChatGPT or our network provider reports them, the one-way code above and a one-way code of the conversation. Never photos, links, pet names or your ChatGPT id | To keep the service running, limit abuse and fix problems | 30 days |
We don't collect payment card details, government ids, health data, contact lists, precise location, your chat history or anything else from your ChatGPT conversation beyond what ChatGPT sends with the tool call.
Who receives it
- OpenAI runs ChatGPT, where you use Boopreel; OpenAI's own privacy policy covers your chat.
- Daytona (Daytona Platforms, Inc.) rents us the GPU computer that runs the video model. It receives the photo (without its location or camera metadata), ChatGPT's description of the animal and the effect's description. The computer exists only while clips are being made and is deleted, with everything on it, about 10 minutes after the last one.
- Hetzner (Hetzner Online GmbH) hosts the server that runs our website, stores photos and clips, and checks each photo for an animal, a person's face and explicit content.
- Anyone you share a clip's page link with can watch that clip. Pages aren't listed or indexed, and the link stops working when the clip is deleted.
Your choices
- Ask ChatGPT "delete my Boopreel clips" (or one clip) at any time. This deletes the clips, photos and pages at once.
- Or email boopreel@theopenapps.com to delete or get a copy of your data; tell us roughly when you made the clip, since we don't know who you are.
- You can remove Boopreel from ChatGPT in ChatGPT's settings.
People and children
Boopreel animates animals only and refuses photos where a person is in view. Boopreel is for people aged 13 and over, and is not directed at children under 13.
AI-generated content
Clips are made by an AI video model. Each carries a visible "Boopreel ยท AI" mark and a tag in the file saying it was AI-generated.
Where data is processed
We and our providers process data in the United States and other countries where they operate. Where the law requires, these transfers are covered by standard contractual clauses.
